Why don't we make kamado tables with drawers anymore?

Because our customers told us how to make them better.

Our original KamadoSpace Infinite Island was a drawer-based design. It looked great and served us well for many years.

But there was one problem.

Storage space.

Drawers take up a lot of room themselves. The drawer boxes and runners reduce the amount of usable space inside the table.

The bigger problem was that many kamado accessories simply didn't fit.

Rotisseries, smoking rings, wok pans, cast iron cookware, charcoal baskets and bags of charcoal all need plenty of space. Drawers were limiting what owners could store inside their table.

So in 2022 we introduced the BIG4SPACE range and stopped building drawer-based tables.

Instead, we switched to full-height cupboards with sliding doors.

The result?

✅ Much more usable storage space

✅ Space for large and tall accessories

✅ Better organisation

✅ Everything stored in one place

Sliding doors brought another advantage too.

Unlike drawers or hinged doors, they don't need extra space in front of the table. Nothing sticks out into walkways and everything stays neatly within the footprint of the kitchen.

They also allow the kitchen to be completely closed when not in use.

All the accessories, charcoal, tools and cooking equipment are hidden from view.

No clutter. No mess. Just a beautifully designed outdoor kitchen.

For families with young children, being able to close the kitchen is also a useful safety feature. Once cooking is finished, the closed doors help discourage children from touching the grill area while the kamado is still cooling down.

The Infinite Island was a great 1st generation table.

But BIG4SPACE is the result of years of customer feedback and real-world experience.

More storage. Better organisation. Cleaner design.

That's why we don't build tables with drawers anymore.
